---Bob Zopp came to Greenbrier East to become the school?s first-ever football coach in 1968 from Rainelle High School. Zopp retired from coaching after the 1981 season.

---Steve Deem came to Greenbrier East to become the school?s second football coach in 1982 from Paden City High School. Deem left to become the coach at St. Mary?s High School after the 1983 season.

---Homer Criddle came to Greenbrier East to become the school?s third football coach in 1984 from St. Albans High School. Criddle retired on August 2, 1996 to accept a position as assistant coach at Liberty High School in Warrenton, Virginia.

---Bob McClintic was elevated from defensive coordinator to become the fourth head coach at Greenbrier East in 1996. He served as an assistant coach under Homer Criddle for 12 seasons, from 1984 - 1995. McClintic retired from coaching on June 1, 2004.

---Andy Grogg came to Greenbrier East to become the school?s fifth head football coach on July 13, 2004 from Riverside High School, where he was an assistant coach. Grogg resigned on March 1, 2006.

---Mike Michael became Greenbrier East's sixth head coach on June 5, 2006. He had served 17 years as a head coach at Buckhannon-Upshur, Philip Barbour, and Tucker County high schools. Michael resigned on March 12, 2009.

--Aaron Baker became Greenbrier East?s seventh head coach on June 9, 2009. He had served as head coach at Eastern Greenbrier Middle School for four seasons and was a Greenbrier East assistant coach in 2003 and 2004. Baker is the first former Spartan football player to return as head coach.
